What are dermal fillers? Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin. Dermal fillers are meant to create a smoother or fuller appearance, or both. Dermal Fillers usually injected in the areas around your eyes, mouth and nose. This cosmetic procedure typically produces results right away, and can last months or years.

Dermal lip fillers are not at all painful, there may only be the slightest discomfort which is over before you know it and numbing cream is always used to ensure you feel the most at ease during the process.

With prescribed numbing cream, dermal fillers involve minimal pain, and you may return to daily activities immediately after treatment. Bruising is likely to last between 5-7 days. It is advisable not to schedule an important event straight after treatment.
Fillers are not permanent. How long they last depends on things like the type of filler and where it’s injected. They usually last between 6 and 18 months.
The major contraindications to the use of a filler are as follows: active infection near the site of injection or a known allergy/hypersensitivity to the filler.
Avoid taking aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Nuprin, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of Vitamin E, for about 5 days after the treatment, as these may cause an increased risk of bleeding or bruising at the injection sites.
